Mayor of Karachi Discusses Urban Management and Development with MQM Delegation

Karachi, Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab engaged in discussions with a delegation from the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) regarding various municipal issues including fire brigade operations, dues for retired employees, and the development of expressways aimed at improving the city’s infrastructure and traffic management.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the meeting addressed several key topics including the maintenance of the Fire Brigade Department under the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), integration with Rescue 1122 for enhanced citizen services, and the promotion of employees based on merit. Mayor Wahab detailed plans for the opening of the Malir Expressway and other development projects such as the Green Bus project on M.A Jinnah Road.

He emphasized the need for federal government cooperation on these projects to alleviate city-wide traffic and water shortages. The meeting concluded with commitments from both sides to collaboratively address the city’s challenges, with MQM pledging support for the People’s Party’s initiatives aimed at the betterment of Karachi.
