MeA delegation expresses solidarity with martyr Nasir’s family

Srinagar, June 21, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, a delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi led by its President, Muhammad Iqbal Mir, visited Achbal area of Islamabad district and expressed solidarity with the family of a martyred youth, Nasir Ahmed. The dead body of Nasir Ahmad with bullet marks was found near a house destroyed by Indian troops during a cordon and search operation at Badoora in Achabal area of the district on June 17.

Muhammad Iqbal Mir speaking to the mourners paid rich tributes to the martyrs and said that the Indian troops were killing the people of Kashmir particularly youth on daily basis. He said military might is no solution to any problem, adding that all problems can be resolved through talks. He said there are three basic parties to the Kashmir dispute and it could only be settled through tripartite dialogue.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, Zafar Akbar Butt in a statement in Srinagar said sincere steps are needed to settle the Kashmir dispute according to the aspirations of Kashmiri people. He said Kashmir is a nuclear flashpoint between India and Pakistan and main reason of confrontation between the two countries.

He urged both the countries to adopt polite and political approach to all problems including Kashmir dispute. He demanded release of all illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists languishing in different jails.

The Jammu and Kashmir Tehreek-e-Muzahamat spokesman in a statement in Srinagar condemned the continued detention of Hurriyat leader, Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar, who has been lodged at Shergari Police Station in Srinagar for last two weeks after being arrested from his residence. He said the court granted bail to Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar and ordered his release but was arrested again by the Indian police in the court premises.
