Srinagar: In a vehement denouncement, Mehbooba Mufti, President of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has labeled Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as the “biggest terrorist after Adolf Hitler,” accusing his administration of severe human rights violations in Palestine and Lebanon.
According to Kashmir Media Service, during a recent statement, Mehbooba referenced the International Criminal Court’s judgment against Netanyahu, asserting his criminal liability for the loss of thousands of lives. “The International Criminal Court has given a verdict against Netanyahu. This incident has proved that he is really a criminal who has killed thousands of persons in Palestine and is now doing the same in Lebanon,” she stated.
Further criticizing the Indian government’s diplomatic relations with Israel under Netanyahu’s leadership, Mehbooba highlighted the contradiction between India’s historical support for Palestine and its current foreign policy. She pointed out the adverse implications of India supplying weapons and drones to Israel, which are reportedly being used in military actions in Palestine and Lebanon.
Mehbooba also addressed her recent tweet where she referred to the slain Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah as a martyr, responding to the backlash by questioning the BJP’s own record on human rights. She highlighted the party’s controversial support for individuals accused in the Kathua rape case to underline her point about moral consistency in politics.
The PDP leader’s remarks have stirred a significant discussion on India’s foreign policy and its implications for human rights and international relations.
