Minister Abdul Aleem Khan Advocates for Wider Use of M-Tag to Improve Motorway Efficiency

Islamabad: Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has announced an upgrade to the monitoring systems on motorways and the GT Road, emphasizing safety and traffic management improvements. At a meeting in Islamabad, he highlighted the success of the M-Tag initiative, which facilitates cashless toll transactions and aims to alleviate congestion at toll plazas.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Khan detailed how the M-Tag system allows vehicles to pass through toll booths seamlessly, with fees automatically deducted from a linked prepaid account. This system has already shown positive results in reducing wait times and streamlining traffic flow.

The minister strongly encouraged transporters to adopt the M-Tag system promptly to benefit from its convenience and efficiency. He reiterated the government’s commitment to enhancing road safety and passenger convenience through technological advancements in transportation infrastructure.
