Minister Abdul Aleem Khan Commits to Elevating Gems and Stones Sector to Industry Status

Islamabad: Minister for Privatization Abdul Aleem Khan has pledged significant government support to entrepreneurs in the gems and stones sector, emphasizing the potential for substantial economic gains by granting it industry status.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a meeting of the Prime Minister’s Steering Committee on Gems and Stones, Minister Khan outlined the government’s commitment to restructuring this sector. He stressed the urgency of addressing its challenges to ensure rapid progress and declared the Prime Minister’s directive for tangible advancements within the next six months.

Minister Khan underscored the need for collaboration among all relevant departments to establish a unified policy for the gems and stones sector. To facilitate this, he has initiated the formation of a sub-committee tasked with formulating the government’s policy. Furthermore, he assured that the federal government would provide all necessary support to entrepreneurs involved in this industry, aiming to harness its full economic potential.
