Minister Advocates for Legislative Action and Testing to Combat Thalassemia

Islamabad: Minister for Housing and Works Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada emphasized the need for legislation, public awareness initiatives, and mandatory pre-marital laboratory tests to curb the spread of thalassemia. The minister highlighted these measures during the inauguration of the Activity Room at the Sundas Foundation Thalassemia Centre, located in the F-9 Park area of the city.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Pirzada inaugurated the facility aimed at supporting children affected by thalassemia. He also introduced an electric cart designed to assist in transporting these children within the center. Additionally, the minister took the opportunity to distribute gifts to the young patients, underscoring the government’s commitment to addressing the challenges posed by thalassemia.
