Minister Ahsan Iqbal Highlights Export-Led Growth as Government Priority

Islamabad: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal emphasized that the government’s focus is on achieving export-led growth. Speaking at a conference in Islamabad, he highlighted the significance of the GSP Plus scheme in diversifying Pakistan’s trade portfolio and accessing new markets.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Iqbal noted that Pakistan’s exports to the European Union have doubled over the past decade, reaching nearly ten billion dollars. He advocated leveraging the GSP Plus scheme by focusing on high-end garments and technology-driven products to meet the government’s export-led growth objectives.
