Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Denounces Fake Defense Day Holiday Notification

Islamabad: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Wednesday strongly refuted a notification that has been making rounds on social media, falsely declaring September 6 as a public holiday for Pakistan’s Defense Day. The ministry emphasized that the circulating notice is entirely fictitious and urged the public to disregard it.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the false notification was identified and addressed by the Ministry’s Fact Checker. The Fact Checker highlighted the negative impact of spreading misinformation, stating that such acts are not only unethical and illegal but also a disservice to the nation. It emphasized the importance of public responsibility in combating the spread of fake news.

The Fact Checker also underscored the collective duty of citizens to reject and report any instances of fake news, particularly those that may cause unnecessary confusion or disrupt public order. The ministry reiterated its commitment to maintaining the integrity of information and urged everyone to verify news through official channels.
