Moon Sighted, 1st Muharram to Commence on Friday

Quetta: Muharram ul Haram Moon has been sighted in the country and tomorrow will be the first of Muharram, 1447 Hijri. This was announced by Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Moulana Abdul Khabir Azad after meeting of the Committee held in Quetta today. Resultantly, 10th of Muharram will be observed on 6th of July, Sunday.

According to Radio Pakistan, the announcement marks the beginning of the Islamic New Year, with the sighting of the moon confirming the start of the holy month of Muharram. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee convened to observe the moon, which is a traditional practice to determine the start of the Islamic month.

The 10th of Muharram, also known as Ashura, holds significant importance in the Islamic calendar and will be observed on 6th of July, Sunday. This day is traditionally marked by various religious activities and commemorations. The sighting of the moon and the subsequent announcements are pivotal for the Muslim community in planning religious observances and activities for the upcoming month.
