Karachi: MQM Pakistan has announced its support for PML-N candidates in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections by withdrawing its own candidates. The decision marks a strategic alliance between the two parties aimed at bolstering their collective influence in the region.
According to Radio Pakistan, the announcement was made following a meeting between a PML-N delegation and MQM Pakistan leaders in Karachi. The meeting underscored a collaborative approach as both parties aim to strengthen their political standing in the upcoming elections.
A PML-N delegation, led by its Sindh President Bashir Memon and Minister of State for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Kheal Das Kohistani, made a visit to the headquarters of MQM Pakistan in Bahadurabad, Karachi. This visit was pivotal in sealing the alliance between the two political entities.
Later, while addressing the media, Dr. Farooq Sattar of MQM Pakistan stated that their candidates contesting from different constituencies, which include seats reserved for refugees, would withdraw in favor of PML-N candidates. This move is expected to unify their efforts and potentially increase their chances of success in the elections.
