Jeddah: The Muslim World League has expressed strong condemnation of Israel’s declared rejection of the roadmap designed to conclude the Gaza conflict and establish a Palestinian state. This roadmap is part of a comprehensive plan spearheaded by US President Donald Trump and is backed by Security Council Resolution 2803.
According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the League’s General Secretariat issued a statement in which His Excellency the Secretary-General, Chairman of the Council of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, criticized Israel’s rejection. He emphasized that this decision perpetuates Israeli policies that violate international laws and resolutions, thereby undermining peace efforts.
His Eminence highlighted the necessity to compel Israel to adhere fully to the obligations outlined in President Trump’s comprehensive plan. He urged the implementation of the plan’s second phase and called for measures to prevent any obstruction. Dr. Al-Issa expressed appreciation for the foreign ministers of several nations, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Pakistan, Indonesia, Turkey, Qatar, and the UAE, who have demonstrated strong solidarity with the Palestinian people and supported their rights. The ministers have reaffirmed their commitment to the two-state solution and relevant international resolutions as the path to achieving lasting peace in the region.
