Naseerabad Officials Announce Plans to Expand Kachchi Canal, Address Land Compensation Concerns

Naseerabad: A key meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Munir Ahmad Khan Kakar has outlined significant advancements for the Kachchi Canal project’s phase two construction and addressed pressing land compensation issues in the district. The gathering, which included prominent local engineers and revenue officials, focused on correcting a flawed 2008 survey and initiating compensation for affected landowners as per government guidelines.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Deputy Commissioner Kakar emphasized the importance of rectifying past survey errors to ensure fair compensation. Discussions highlighted that compensation efforts would commence across various sections stretching over 33 km in the district. Furthermore, it was noted that one kilometer of the canal has already been completed in phase one, and efforts are now gearing towards the second phase to spur agricultural development in the region.

The meeting, which was attended by Engineer Zulfikar Ali, Assistant Commissioner Ali Shah Abbasi, and other key figures, also touched upon the upcoming steps for the project. The district administration has committed to full support, aiming for rapid commencement of construction works. This development is expected to trigger an agricultural revolution in Naseerabad by improving water supply for farming needs.
