National Assembly Speaker Congratulates Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Election as Ameer of JUI

Islamabad: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has extended his congratulations to Maulana Fazlur Rehman for being elected as the Ameer of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam and to Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri for being chosen as the General Secretary of the party. Sadiq conveyed his best wishes for both leaders in their respective new roles.

According to National Assembly of Pakistan announcement issued on 29 September 2024, Speaker Sadiq praised Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s vision and leadership, stating that his election as Ameer signifies a positive development for democratic practices within the country. He remarked on the importance of maintaining democratic values in politics, both within and outside of Parliament, under Rehman’s leadership.

Sadiq also highlighted Rehman’s contribution to the promotion of parliamentary supremacy and democratic values in Pakistan. He expressed optimism that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam will continue to fortify the role of Parliament and enhance democratic principles across the nation.
