Islamabad: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq remarked that October 27 is recognized as the day to highlight India’s forcible occupation of Kashmir and the suffering endured by the Kashmiri people.
According to Kashmir Media Service, on October 27, 1947, Indian forces made an unauthorised entry into Srinagar, initiating an occupation of Jammu and Kashmir that has been denounced globally as “Black Day.” In his statement, Ayaz Sadiq emphasized the Kashmiri people’s fundamental right to self-determination a right persistently challenged by Indian policies of oppression and brutality, yet unyieldingly pursued by the Kashmiris.
Ayaz Sadiq criticized the actions taken by India on August 5, 2019, which included constitutional amendments and the conduct of elections deemed illegitimate by the Kashmiris. He called on India to reverse these actions and halt the human rights abuses in occupied Kashmir. Reinforcing Pakistan’s commitment, he assured unwavering support for the Kashmiri pursuit of self-determination and voiced solidarity with the region’s inhabitants.
In his tribute, Sadiq honored the resilience and sacrifices of the Kashmiri freedom movement’s heroes, vowing that their efforts would forever be revered and remembered.
