Naval Chief Stresses Need for Underwater Ecosystem Preservation at Global Symposium

Islamabad: Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf has called for the preservation of underwater ecosystems and the sustainable use of marine resources to maintain global biodiversity and economic stability. He made these remarks during his address at the Trans-Regional Seapower Symposium held in Venice, Italy.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Admiral Ashraf highlighted the importance of conservation strategies to secure the future of marine environments, emphasizing the need to balance human activities with environmental protection. He also mentioned the upcoming AMAN Dialogue, set to take place alongside Pakistan Navy’s multinational exercise AMAN in 2025, which will foster greater understanding of maritime security issues among global naval leaders.

On the sidelines of the symposium, Admiral Ashraf held discussions with naval chiefs and leaders from countries including the United Kingdom, the United States, Thailand, Japan, and Italy. He also visited the Italian Defence Headquarters, meeting with key figures such as Secretary General of Defence Dr. Luisa Riccardi and other senior officials to discuss bilateral naval collaboration and shared maritime security challenges.
