NDMA Issues Alert for Heavy Rains in Kashmir

Srinagar: The National Emergency Operations Center of NDMA has issued a flood alert in view of possible heavy rains in different parts of Kashmir during the next 12 to 24 hours. Heavy rains are expected in Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Shradha Haveli, and Kotli during this period, which may trigger flooding in urban and low-lying areas and landslides in mountainous regions.

According to Radio Pakistan, residents in these areas are advised to remain alert and avoid unnecessary travel as a sudden increase in river flow is expected. The NEOC has urged the public and relevant institutions to take precautionary measures and stay away from low-lying and vulnerable areas.
