NDMA Issues Flood Alert Due to Possible Rains in Sindh and Balochistan

Islamabad: National Emergencies Operation Center of NDMA has issued a flood alert due to possible rains in Sindh and Balochistan.

According to Radio Pakistan, rain with thunderstorms is expected in Karachi, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Thatta, Badin, Sujawal, Tharparkar, Umerkot, Sanghar, Dadu, Jacobabad, and other districts of Sindh. Intermittent heavy rain is also expected in Sukkur, Rohri, Larkana, Shikarpur, Ghotki, and Kashmore.

Flooding is expected in the Kirthar range, while lowland and urban areas are likely to be inundated, which may affect traffic movement. Heavy rain is also expected in the southern and eastern districts of Balochistan, including Lasbela, Hub, Khuzdar, Awaran, Barkhan, Sui, Sibi, Dera Bugti, Naseerabad, Kohlu, Kalat, Zhob, Kech, Gwadar, Pasni, Ormara, Sorab, and South Washak during the next 24 hours.

Heavy rains may trigger flooding in nullahs of Wadh, Khuzdar, Bela, Ormara, Hingol valley, and could cause damage to mud houses, agricultural lands, and dilapidated roads. The public has been advised to avoid unnecessary travel and stay away from weak structures and trees.
