Neelum-Jehlum Power Project must be ready before schedule: Prime Minister

Muzaffarabad, June 19, 2013 (PPI-OT): Prime Minister Nawaz sharif has issued special instructions to the authorities to complete Neelum-Jehlum Hydro Power Project before 2016.Nawaz Sharif visited Neelum-Jehlum Hydro Power Project and inspected the ongoing construction work of the facility.

The Prime Minister expressed sorrow over long delay in completion of the project, saying it is very saddening that this key project has not been completed during last 30 years and if this practice would continue, then only Allah can protect Pakistan.Neelum- Jehlum Hydro Power Project comprises on four units of 240 megawatts each; it would produce 978 megawatts of cheap electricity and it would cost about 275 billion rupees.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif warned on the occasion that all should work with zeal and promptly as delay in any project will not be tolerated at all.While replying to a question over prevailing situation in Balochistan,the premiere vowed to eliminate terrorism for economic development and said that they are not afraid of terrorism.
