Net Metering Applications to Follow Old Regulations as Per Minister’s Directive

Islamabad: Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari has instructed that all net metering applications submitted by February 8 be processed in accordance with the old regulations. This directive applies across all electricity distribution companies, including K-Electric.

According to Radio Pakistan, a total of 5,165 applications had been submitted to various distribution companies by the specified date, which are expected to contribute an additional 250.822 MW of capacity to the national grid. This decision by the Federal Minister for Power has resolved any uncertainties surrounding the processing of current applications.

The Minister further emphasized the importance of maintaining transparency throughout the application processing procedure. He assured consumers that they could register any complaints regarding the process by calling 118.
