Islamabad: The National Highway Authority (NHA) has successfully conducted the competitive bidding process for eighty-one out of ninety-three toll plazas across the country. The auction ceremony was held at the Headquarters of National Highway Authority in Islamabad today.
According to Radio Pakistan, General Manager Revenue NHA, Sadaqat Ullah Akhunzada, conducted the toll plaza auction as an Auctioneer in a fair, transparent and orderly manner in accordance with approved auction procedures and terms. Highlighting a massive surge in public-private partnerships, the auction yielded an annual revenue of more than one billion rupees over the set targets, with winning bids averaging 30 percent above their designated reserve prices.
Prominent national logistics giants and private entities, including the National Logistics Cell, secured operational rights across key highway networks. The auction process will continue tomorrow to finalize the auction of remaining toll plazas.
