NLC Playing Key Role in PM’s Task Force for Maritime Reforms

Islamabad: NLC is playing a key role as an important stakeholder in the Prime Minister’s Task Force for Maritime Reforms. With the involvement of NLC, movement in shallow coastal areas has been fully deregulated under Barge Operation Freedom.

According to Radio Pakistan, barge operations involve transporting goods from one location to another using large boat-like vessels in shallow coastal waters. NLC is ensuring the monitoring and safe movement of freight vehicles through a modern Transit and Tracking System.

A state-of-the-art coast-to-coast radar network has been established under the Vessel Traffic Management System to effectively monitor port activities.
