Srinagar, June 03, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities are looking towards New Delhi in vain for release of funds to reconstruct at least 400 structures including school buildings ravaged by the earthquake in the last month of May in Kishtwar and Doda districts.
The survey report conducted by the education department said nearly 400 structures, including schools, hospitals and houses were damaged and more than hundred were developed cracks in the quake hit areas of Kishtwar and Doda district in last month of May.
“There was no development going on to adjust the school children at other places,” an official of the education department said, adding that a huge amount would be required to construct school buildings that have been fully damaged due to the earthquake.
Talking to media men, Commissioner/Secretary Education Department, Hirdesh Kumar Singh confirmed that large number of school buildings was damaged in the last month’s quake.
