Nominations for Judicial Commission Announced by National Assembly Speaker

Islamabad: Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz, has announced the nomination of five members for the establishment of a Judicial Commission responsible for the appointment of judges in the higher judiciary. The selected individuals include the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub Khan, Sheikh Aftab Ahmed from the Pakistan Muslim League (N), Senators Farooq Naek and Shibli Faraz from the Senate, and Roshan Khursheed Bharucha as the woman member of the Judicial Commission.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, all nominations have been forwarded to the Secretary of the Judicial Commission, and the Supreme Court has confirmed receipt of these nominations. Additionally, the Speaker of the National Assembly has communicated with the Supreme Judicial Commission, requesting the formation of a judicial commission to facilitate the appointment process of judges in the higher judiciary.
