October Emphasizes Global Breast Cancer Awareness

Karachi: October is observed as Breast Cancer Awareness Month globally. Also known as Pink October, the month advocates for prevention and early detection of breast cancer and supports individuals affected by the disease.

According to Radio Pakistan, in her message at the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari has urged women to take breast cancer seriously by giving priority to their health and well-being. She highlighted that breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in Pakistan, with every ninth woman at risk of being affected in her lifetime.

Aseefa Bhutto Zardari encouraged women to carry out regular self-examinations and seek clinical check-ups after the age of thirty. She emphasized that families, communities, and society as a whole must stand by women and support them in seeking timely medical care.
