Risalpur: The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has entered into a strategic collaboration with the Military College of Engineering (MCE) in Risalpur to advance youth development in Pakistan’s mining sector. The newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two entities aims to leverage the country’s youth and natural resources for economic growth.
MCE has recently introduced postgraduate programs under its Department of Sustainable Advanced Geomechanical Engineering (SAGE). These programs are designed to address the complex challenges in the mining industry and mitigate the sector’s critical skills shortage.
In a move to address the lack of skilled mining professionals in Pakistan, OGDCL will provide sponsorships for deserving students. This initiative aims to facilitate access to quality postgraduate education in mining engineering, enhancing the industry’s workforce and contributing to sustainable development.
