OGRA Announces Decrease in September RLNG Prices for Major Distributors

Islamabad: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a decrease in the prices for Re-gasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) for September 2024, affecting major distributors including Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL). This adjustment reflects a drop in the Dollar Exchange DES price and is in line with the Policy Guidelines provided by the Federal Government.

According to Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority, the new RLNG prices, effective from September 1, 2024, are set at $12.9208 per MMBtu for SNGPL’s transmission and $13.8560 per MMBtu for distribution. For SSGCL, the prices are determined at $11.7589 per MMBtu for transmission and $13.4205 per MMBtu for distribution. These rates represent a decrease from August 2024, where SNGPL recorded transmission and distribution prices at $13.0603 and $14.0065 respectively, and SSGCL at $11.8961 and $13.5773 respectively.

The percentage decrease for both SNGPL and SSGCL stands at approximately -1.07% and -1.15% respectively in both transmission and distribution sectors. This price reduction is primarily attributed to a decrease in the DES price, which directly influences the cost of RLNG.

For further details, OGRA has made the RLNG price notification for September 2024 available on its website at www.ogra.org.pk.
