OGRA Announces LPG Price Increase for October 2024

Islamabad: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has set new price levels for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) starting October 1, 2024, reflecting an increase from the previous month. This adjustment aligns with changes in the global energy market and currency exchange rates.

According to Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority, the price for LPG producers has been set at Rs. 210,003.79 per ton, marking an increase of Rs. 7,312.04 from September 2024. For consumers, the price per 11.8 kg cylinder will now be Rs. 2,965.38, also up by Rs. 86.28.

The changes in LPG pricing are primarily due to a 3.84% increase in the Saudi Aramco Contract Price (CP) and a slight decrease in the US dollar exchange rate by 0.125%. These factors have collectively led to a 2.99% increase in the consumer price per cylinder, which translates to an additional Rs. 7.31 per kg.

OGRA has made the detailed pricing notification available on its official website for October 2024, ensuring transparency and accessibility for stakeholders. The regulatory body continues to monitor global trends and exchange rate movements to adjust local fuel prices accordingly.
