Makkah: OIC Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha has welcomed the Mecca agreement on Joint Defense among Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkiye.
According to Radio Pakistan, in a statement, he expressed his strong appreciation and support for this important strategic step, saying this reflects the three countries’ commitment to strengthening regional and international cooperation.
The OIC Secretary General affirmed that this agreement constitutes a fundamental pillar for supporting security and stability in the region and across the Muslim world, embodies a shared resolve to address growing security challenges, and consolidates the principles of solidarity and constructive partnership among Member States.
He expressed the hope that the agreement will contribute to achieving peace and prosperity in the region in particular and for the international community as a whole.
Meanwhile, Bahrain also welcomed the signing of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, describing it as a strategic partnership between equal partners driven by a shared commitment to safeguard regional and global stability while bolstering credible deterrence.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain highlighted the three countries’ formidable defense capabilities, military expertise, and contributions to regional security.
