OIC Welcomes Ceasefire Between Pakistan and India

Jeddah: The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has welcomed the ceasefire agreement between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Republic of India. It praised the countries that played a role in mediating and facilitating the agreement between the two nations.

According to Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, the General Secretariat urged the international community to intensify efforts and encourage both Pakistan and India to engage in constructive dialogue. This dialogue is essential to resolve outstanding issues, including the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, using peaceful methods and in line with United Nations Security Council resolutions.

The General Secretariat had previously expressed concern over the military escalation in the South Asia region. It highlighted the strikes in Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, urging for restraint and actions that would not destabilize the region.
