Omar Abdullah Warns of Potential Modi-Led Attack on Azad Kashmir

Srinagar, Omar Abdullah, Vice President of the National Conference, has issued a stark warning about potential aggressive moves by Narendra Modi against Azad Kashmir if he is re-elected as India’s Prime Minister.

According to Kashmir Media Service, during an exclusive interview, Abdullah voiced concerns about the future of Jammu and Kashmir under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), suggesting that a BJP victory would not bode well for the region. He pointed to discussions among senior BJP leaders about constitutional changes and more aggressive policies toward Kashmir, indicating a possible escalation in conflicts involving Azad Kashmir.

Abdullah mentioned that BJP officials have hinted at plans to challenge Pakistan’s control over Azad Kashmir within six months of Modi’s re-election, raising fears of an impending conflict. Despite these concerns, he expressed hope that the INDIA bloc could achieve positive changes for Jammu and Kashmir, including restoring statehood and protecting local rights to land and employment.

His comments reflect significant anxiety about the BJP’s nationalistic and polarizing tactics, which he believes could lead to increased tensions with Pakistan and further internal strife within India.
