OPF Chairman Syed Qamar Raza Launches Advisory Council to Boost Pakistani Diaspora’s Role in Economic Development

Islamabad: Syed Qamar Raza, Chairman of the Board of Governors at the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF), has launched an Advisory Council aimed at enhancing the contributions of the Pakistani diaspora to the national economy. Speaking at a function organized at the Pakistani Embassy in Washington, Raza detailed the welfare services offered by the OPF to Pakistanis living abroad and underscored the need for increased remittances to alleviate the country’s financial crisis.

According to Press Information Department, Raza emphasized the critical role of overseas Pakistanis in strengthening Pakistan’s economy through remittances and in promoting a positive image of the country internationally. He announced the formation of the Advisory Council, comprising two hundred notable members of the Pakistani community abroad, to expand the welfare services of the OPF and develop strategies for the country’s progress.

The event also featured speeches from Pakistan’s Ambassador to the USA, H.E. Rizwan Saeed Shaikh, who reiterated the embassy’s support for the diaspora’s welfare activities. Prominent community leaders, including Jawad Shirazi, Asad Chaudhry, Ayesha Khan, and Mazhar Chughtai, voiced their support for Raza’s initiatives. Furthermore, Raza met with Mr. Sajid Tarar, a noted businessman and former adviser to President Donald Trump, discussing key issues related to the Pakistani community in the USA and bilateral relations.
