Islamabad: Pakistan has issued a strong call for enhanced international cooperation to shield children from severe rights violations. This plea was made during a debate on children’s rights at the General Assembly, emphasizing the need for stringent enforcement of laws against child abuse and exploitation.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Pakistan’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Usman Iqbal Jadoon, stressed the critical role of global partnerships in safeguarding children. Ambassador Jadoon highlighted the necessity for robust legal frameworks internationally to effectively criminalize all forms of child maltreatment.
Further, Ambassador Jadoon underlined Pakistan’s commitment to education, particularly advocating for inclusive educational policies that cater to girls and marginalized youth. He called on the international community to support developing nations in securing adequate resources to invest in children’s education, thereby ensuring a prosperous future for the current generation.
