Pakistan Advocates for Peaceful Coexistence and Regional Integration

Islamabad: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has stated that Pakistan is committed to peaceful coexistence, regional integration, and mutually beneficial cooperation. Addressing an event in Islamabad, he emphasized that the country’s foreign policy is rooted in geo-economics, with the national development model, Uraan Pakistan, focusing on connectivity, trade, and sustainable growth as central to its strategy.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ahsan Iqbal highlighted that connectivity cannot prosper in an environment marked by coercion, occupation, and hegemonic ambitions. He stressed that peace is a fundamental requirement for regional trade. The Minister pointed out that India’s recent actions have highlighted an inconsistent and irresponsible stance towards regional integration. He criticized India’s ongoing denial of the legitimate rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and its obstruction of SAARC processes, which he claims has set back the regional integration agenda by decades.
