Pakistan Aims to Enhance EU Cooperation in Maritime Sector

Brussels: Pakistan says it looks forward to deepening cooperation with the EU and partner countries in technology transfer and capacity-building for the protection of critical maritime infrastructure. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar while delivering a statement in Brussels on ‘Critical Maritime Infrastructure and Connectivity Development’.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of ensuring the harmonious and judicious use of ocean resources as a common heritage of mankind, advocating for the peaceful resolution of maritime disputes in line with international law. He stressed the need to combine connectivity with resilience through the alignment of best practices, to prevent regional disruptions from having global impacts.

Ishaq Dar highlighted that maritime development should be rooted in international cooperation and technological solutions. He shared that Pakistan has strengthened its Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre and is eager to enhance collaboration with partners to maintain seas as zones of peace and shared progress.
