Pakistan Air Force Commemorates Martyrs’ Day with National Tributes

Islamabad: Pakistan Air Force (PAF) observed 7th September as Martyrs’ Day at all PAF bases across the country, honoring the fallen heroes of the 1965 and 1971 wars, along with those who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty since Pakistan’s inception. The day was marked by Quran Khawani and various ceremonies dedicated to the memory of these martyrs, reflecting the nation’s gratitude and respect for their sacrifices.

According to Inter Services Public Relations, the main ceremony took place at Air Headquarters in Islamabad with Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of Air Staff, serving as the chief guest. During the event, the Air Chief emphasized the PAF’s rich legacy of valor, professionalism, and sacrifice. “We owe our heroes an eternal debt of gratitude for what they have done for us, setting a supreme example of sacrifice for generations to come,” he stated, underscoring the profound impact of their heroism on the nation.

The Air Chief also spoke about his commitment to enhancing Pakistan’s defense capabilities in response to the evolving global landscape, including advancements in space, electronic warfare, cyber, and indigenous technologies. He pledged continued efforts to uphold the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan.

The ceremony concluded with the Air Chief laying a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument and offering Fateha, a gesture of solemn respect and remembrance for the martyrs of the Pakistan Air Force.
