Pakistan and Australia Strengthen Cooperation to Combat Human Trafficking

Islamabad: Pakistan and Australia have agreed to enhance their collaboration in the fight against human trafficking, following a meeting between Pakistan’s Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi and Australian High Commissioner Neil Hawkins. The two nations will work together to strengthen efforts in preventing human smuggling, particularly to Australia.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Naqvi emphasized that a dedicated team is working tirelessly to counter human trafficking, and efforts are underway to boost the capacity of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to address the issue more effectively.

High Commissioner Hawkins offered Pakistan access to Australia’s advanced border management techniques and equipment, aiming to further enhance the country’s anti-trafficking operations. Both parties agreed to convene a Joint Working Group meeting in Australia in December to further develop their cooperative strategy.
