Pakistan and China Sign Key MoUs to Boost Industrial and Energy Cooperation

Islamabad: Pakistan and China have entered into several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in renewable energy and industrial sectors. The agreements, witnessed by prominent leaders from both nations, signify a commitment to enhance economic collaboration.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the signing ceremony was attended by President Asif Ali Zardari, Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah. The event marked the beginning of several strategic partnerships.

One of the significant agreements was between Pakistan’s Thatta Cement Company and China’s Qinggong Construction Group. This MoU involves the installation of a production line to increase cement production by 5,000 tons per day, underscoring a major industrial development in Pakistan.

Additionally, the Sindh Energy Department entered into a partnership with China’s Mingyang Renewable Energy Company. This agreement focuses on expanding renewable energy projects across Pakistan, highlighting a mutual interest in sustainable energy solutions.

Another MoU was signed between the Government of Sindh and a Chinese company to develop a Coal Gasification and Urea production plant. This project is expected to play a crucial role in advancing the region’s energy and agricultural sectors.

These agreements reflect the ongoing efforts to deepen economic ties between Pakistan and China, with an emphasis on key sectors that promise growth and sustainability.
