Pakistan and Denmark Sign MoU to Boost Maritime Cooperation

Islamabad: In a significant development for economic and maritime collaboration, Pakistan and Denmark have formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at fostering cooperation in the maritime sector.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the agreement was signed by Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, Pakistan’s Minister for Maritime Affairs. The ceremony saw the participation of prominent officials, including Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal, and Minister for Industries Rana Tanveer.

This MoU marks a major commitment by Danish Shipping Company Maersk, which plans to invest approximately two billion dollars in Pakistan’s maritime infrastructure. This investment is expected to significantly enhance the sector’s capacity and technological advancement, reinforcing economic ties between Pakistan and Denmark.
