Islamabad: Pakistan and Egypt have emphasized the necessity of de-escalation and dialogue in the Middle East, highlighting the importance of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all nations.
According to Radio Pakistan, these discussions took place during a dinner meeting between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Dr. Badr Abdelatty. The meeting was hosted on the eve of the ASEAN Regional Forum in Manila.
Both sides engaged in comprehensive discussions on enhancing bilateral relations between Pakistan and Egypt. Topics included trade, investment, economic cooperation, and collaboration in multilateral forums. They also considered the broader consequences of regional instability, especially regarding global maritime trade, energy security, and the world economy.
The leaders exchanged views on the situation in Palestine, reiterating their opposition to violence against civilians and illegal settlement activities in the occupied West Bank. Additionally, they discussed the latest Regional Four consultations in Cairo, reaffirming their mutual commitment to promoting peace, stability, and regional cooperation.
