Pakistan and Egypt Collaborate on Police Training and Counter-Terrorism

Islamabad: Pakistan and Egypt have agreed to expand cooperation between their interior ministries, focusing on joint police training, counter-terrorism initiatives, and the implementation of modern security systems. This understanding was reached during a meeting in Islamabad between Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, and an Egyptian delegation led by Major General Magdy Helena.

According to Radio Pakistan, the discussions between the two delegations explored various avenues to enhance bilateral cooperation in areas such as security, counter-terrorism, counter-narcotics, cybercrime, and Safe City technologies. A significant outcome of the meeting was the agreement to expand collaboration between Pakistan’s National Police Academy and Egypt’s Police Academy. This collaboration aims to establish structured joint training programs for officers from both nations.

Speaking on the occasion, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that the visit of the Egyptian delegation marked an important step towards identifying new areas of mutual cooperation. The meeting underscored the commitment of both countries to strengthen their partnership in combating shared security challenges.
