Pakistan and Egypt Strengthen Ties in Maritime Sector

Islamabad: Pakistan and Egypt have pledged to enhance cooperation in maritime trade, emphasizing the importance of mutual understanding and development within the sector. This commitment was made during a meeting between Egypt’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Ehab Mohamed Abdel Hameed Hassan, and Pakistan’s Minister for Maritime Affairs, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Egyptian Ambassador highlighted Egypt’s experience in managing its maritime industry, particularly noting the strategic significance of the Suez Canal. He extended Egypt’s support to Pakistan in developing its maritime infrastructure and expertise.

The Minister for Maritime Affairs appreciated Egypt’s readiness to collaborate and align with Pakistan’s vision. He emphasized the importance of modernizing ports, boosting maritime trade, and creating investment-friendly opportunities within the blue economy.

The meeting underscores the growing relationship between the two nations, focusing on leveraging each other’s strengths to advance their maritime sectors.
