Pakistan and Ghana Commit to Strengthen Ties; Islamabad Invites Accra to Establish Diplomatic Mission

Islamabad: In a significant diplomatic engagement, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Ishaq Dar, met with Shirley Ayorker Botchwey, Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Apia, Samoa.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting focused on reinforcing the friendly relations between Pakistan and Ghana, with discussions highlighting shared values and mutual trust. Both parties agreed on enhancing cooperation across various sectors, including trade, investment, and education.

A key outcome of the discussions was the invitation extended by Deputy Prime Minister Dar to Ghana to establish a resident diplomatic mission in Islamabad. This move aims to deepen the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two nations.

Furthermore, Minister Botchwey acknowledged Pakistan’s recent election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2025-2026 term, congratulating Deputy Prime Minister Dar on this achievement.
