Pakistan and Iran Strengthen Ties in Counter-Terrorism and Immigration Cooperation

Islamabad: Pakistan and Iran have agreed to enhance their collaboration in areas of counter-terrorism, counter-narcotics, and the prevention of illegal immigration and human trafficking. The agreement was reached during a meeting between Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and his Iranian counterpart Eskandar Momeni in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, both ministers emphasized the necessity of a unified approach to combat drug trafficking and terrorism along the Afghan border. They expressed a mutual commitment to deepen bilateral relations and increase trade between the two countries. The meeting also underscored the importance of improving coordination mechanisms to bolster cooperative efforts.

Mohsin Naqvi reiterated Pakistan’s readiness to expand cooperation with Iran across various sectors. He acknowledged the significant contributions made by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni towards achieving peace, expressing optimism that their efforts will yield positive results for regional stability.
