Pakistan and Iraq to Enhance Collaboration in Pilgrim Management and Security

Brussels: Pakistan and Iraq have agreed to increase cooperation in pilgrim management, security cooperation, and anti-smuggling measures. The understanding was reached during a meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Iraqi Interior Minister General Abdul Ameer Al-Shammari in Brussels today.

According to Radio Pakistan, during the meeting, both sides also agreed to strengthen security cooperation, counter-terrorism efforts, exchange of information, and joint mechanisms to curb human smuggling. The discussions emphasized the importance of collaboration in managing the influx of pilgrims, ensuring their safety, and enhancing overall security protocols.

The agreement marks a significant step forward in the bilateral relationship between the two countries, focusing on shared goals of improved security and efficient management of cross-border activities. The collaboration is expected to result in more structured and effective measures to tackle smuggling and enhance information sharing.
