Pakistan and Iraq Vow to Strengthen Defence Ties.

Baghdad: Pakistan and Iraq have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their defence ties. This mutual commitment was reiterated during a series of meetings held by Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza with Iraqi leadership, which included Prime Minister Mohammad Shia’ Al Sudani, Defence Minister Thabet Muhammad Saeed Al-Abbasi, Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al Shammari, and Chief of Defence Forces General Abdul Ameer Rasheed Yar Allah in Baghdad.

According to Radio Pakistan, discussions between the two nations covered key areas of interest, notably security, defence cooperation, and the current regional environment. Both parties explored ways to expand the scope of military cooperation between the two countries, reflecting a shared intent to enhance collaborative efforts in defence.

The Iraqi civil and military leadership expressed their appreciation for the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces, recognizing their significant sacrifices in the fight against terr
orism. This acknowledgment further cements the foundation of trust and mutual respect between the two countries, paving the way for enhanced defence collaboration.
