Pakistan and Italy Agree to Collaborate on Agriculture and Food Security

Rome: Pakistan and Italy have agreed to work towards building a stronger and more practical partnership in agriculture and food security. This agreement was reached during the meeting between Minister for National Food Security and Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain and Italian Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, Francesco Lollobrigida, in Rome.

According to Radio Pakistan, the two ministers reviewed progress on the ongoing olive sector projects. Rana Tanveer Hussain informed the Italian side about Pakistan’s upcoming Olive Value Chain Policy.

Italian Minister Francesco Lollobrigida expressed his keenness to share relevant experience with Pakistan and proposed to form a joint technical group to cooperate in research, mechanization, and modern olive oil extraction.
