Pakistan and Italy Reaffirm Commitment to Enhance Bilateral Ties

Islamabad: Pakistan and Italy have reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen cooperation across all areas of mutual interest and agreed to maintain ongoing communication. This commitment was expressed during a telephonic conversation between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani today.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude towards the Italian government, including Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, for appreciating Pakistan’s mediation efforts that facilitated an understanding between the United States and Iran. Both countries emphasized the significance of executing the understandings reached and continuing international efforts for lasting peace and stability in the region, particularly in Lebanon.

During the conversation, both sides highlighted the importance of the recent opening of the Strait of Hormuz, noting it as a positive development for global energy flows, trade, and the broader international economy. The two countries also expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of Pakistan-Italy relations and welcomed the recent signing of an agreement abolishing visas for diplomatic passport holders between the two nations.
