Pakistan and Jordan Reaffirm Commitment to Regional Peace and Stability

Islamabad: Pakistan and Jordan have reaffirmed close coordination at the bilateral and multilateral levels, including at the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, to promote regional peace and stability. This development emerged from a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi, held on the sidelines of the Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem in Amman.

According to Radio Pakistan, the two leaders welcomed the growing momentum in Pakistan-Jordan bilateral relations and committed to further enhancing cooperation across political, defense, economic, educational, cultural, and people-to-people domains. They exchanged views on regional developments, particularly focusing on the deteriorating situation in the Occupied West Bank.

The discussions also encompassed the broader regional situation, including recent developments concerning Iran and the United States. Both leaders emphasized the importance of dialogue and diplomacy as means for de-escalation in these regions.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar expressed appreciation for Jordan’s steadfast role in safeguarding the Islamic and Christian Holy Sites in Jerusalem and its ongoing support for the Palestinian people.
