Islamabad: Pakistan and Kuwait have reached an agreement to further institutionalize their bilateral cooperation through enhanced institutional linkages and regular high-level exchanges. This development was confirmed during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Kuwait Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah in Islamabad today.
According to Radio Pakistan, the two leaders co-chaired delegation-level talks where they reviewed the full spectrum of Pakistan-Kuwait bilateral relations. Discussions focused on ways to strengthen cooperation in various sectors including trade, investment, energy, labor, agriculture, information technology, health, mining and minerals, defense, and the broader economic partnership. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to close coordination and cooperation at multilateral forums on issues of mutual interest.
During the meeting, the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to the Government and people of Pakistan for their warm welcome and hospitality. He also appreciated Pakistan’s support to Kuwait during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ishaq Dar reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to its longstanding brotherly relations with Kuwait and emphasized the desire to expand the mutually beneficial partnership across all areas of cooperation.
Further discussions included exchanging views on regional and international developments of mutual interest, such as the situation in the Middle East and Palestine. The Kuwaiti Foreign Minister acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability.
