Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan Commit to Deepening Bilateral Relations Amid Recent Unrest

Islamabad, Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ties and ensuring the safety of their people, following recent violent incidents affecting Pakistanis in Kyrgyzstan.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a meeting in Bishkek between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and his Kyrgyz counterpart, Kulubaev Zheenbek Moldokanovich, both sides discussed enhancing people-to-people contacts and resolving issues stemming from the recent unrest.

The Kyrgyz Foreign Minister outlined measures taken to restore order and ensure justice for affected Pakistanis. Additionally, Deputy Prime Minister Dar visited injured Pakistani nationals and discussed labor and visa issues affecting Pakistani textile workers in Kyrgyzstan, with both governments agreeing to negotiate a labor mobility agreement and strengthen economic cooperation.
